Your tasks

  • Install, administer, and troubleshoot Linux servers and applications on them
  • Work on the design, development and operation of GPU and compute cluster systems together with an interactive team
  • Serve as the first point of contact for users for help or problem analysis and resolution
  • Work with platform developers in porting projects to the HPC system

You will work in a vibrant IT department in close contact with the scientists of a world leading research center.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, mathematics or a related technical subject from a university with internationally recognized quality standards; alternatively, a completed vocational training in the profession of German IT specialist ("Fachinformatiker:in") with comprehensive knowledge and relevant further training
  • At least 3 years of professional experience
  • Good knowledge of the Linux operating system
  • Good working knowledge of shell and script languages (e.g., bash, Python)
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Structured and systematic working style with a strong focus on customer needs as well as the ability to work in teams

Desirable qualifications

  • Knowledge of German
  • Special knowledge in one of these areas is a plus:
    • HPC (e.g., Workload Scheduler, CUDA, Infiniband)
    • Storage (e.g., Block, NAS, Object, Parallel)
    • Cloud (e.g., Container, OpenStack, OpenShift, AWS, GCP, Azure)
