Tätigkeitsprofil:
We are seeking a doctoral candidate to pursue a PhD in economics under the guidance of department head Prof. Dr. Oliver Falck at the University of Munich and to work on research projects in the economics of innovation or digital transformation.
Our team is dedicated to exploring the effects of innovation and digital transformation on the economy and society, focusing on how the state can design institutions for inclusive growth in an open society. To answer this question, we aim to use state-of-the-art micro-econometric analyses often combined with innovative unconventional data. Join us in this important endeavor!

In your new role you can look forward to...
•Conducting research in the economics of innovation and digital transformation, advancing your own research agenda, and developing your personal research profile.
•Pursuing a doctorate in economics under the supervision of your division head at ifo, Prof. Dr. Oliver Falck, at the LMU Chair of Empirical Innovation Economics.
•Participating in the structured doctoral program of the Munich Graduate School of Economics (MGSE) at LMU.
•Contributing to exciting and highly relevant policy projects.
•Publishing your research findings through various channels, with active support from the ifo Institute.
We are looking for candidates who...
•Hold a Master’s degree in economics with strong academic performance.
•Possess a solid foundation in economic principles, relevant empirical methods, and microeconomic theory.
•Demonstrate outstanding English language skills, both written and spoken, to confidently engage in our international research network. German language proficiency is a plus.
