Tätigkeitsprofil:

The “Muscle Metabolism and Ageing” group is interested in understanding the regulation of anabolic and catabolic processes in skeletal muscle ageing, with a particular focus on the contribution of mTORC1 signaling. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow with a PhD (or near completion) in molecular or cellular biology, biochemistry or a related field. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently, bringing commitment, critical thinking and a problem-solving mindset to the group.
The Minerva Fast Track Research Group “Muscle Metabolism and Ageing” headed by Dr. Stephanie A. Fernandes is looking for a full time Postdoctoral Research Fellow (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

  • Investigate the role of mTORC1 and lysosomes in muscle physiology and ageing
  • Design and perform molecular studies on iPSC-derived skeletal muscle cells andaged mouse models
  • Independently analyze data and develop innovative experiments
  • Support the preparation of funding proposals, fellowship applications and publications
  • Present research findings at internal seminars and international conferences
  • Stay up to date with relevant literature
  • Supervise junior scientists

Anforderungsprofil:

Your qualifications:

  • Strong track record of scientific accomplishments is essential
  • Prior hands-on experience in cell culture, mouse work, biochemical assays,metabolomics or microscopy is highly desirable
  • We particularly value individuals who work well in a team and think creatively
  • A FELASA certificate for work with laboratory animals would be considered a strongasset
  • Candidates with expertise in skeletal muscle biology, lysosome biology and/orhuman induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology will be given preferentialconsideration
  • Experience in supervising or mentoring junior lab members, such as master's orundergraduate students, is considered a strong asset and reflects the collaborativespirit we foster in our team
