European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X‑rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The diverse scientific facilities at European XFEL enable scientists from across the globe to carry out a wide range of experimental techniques.

To support the implementation of European XFEL’s "Strategy 2030+" and manage the resulting increase of administrative efforts in our Finance and Controlling group we are looking for a

Controller (f/m/d)

The Position

• Advice and support to Management and Group Leaders on budget related matters
• Preparation of regular and ad hoc reports for external and internal stakeholders
• Improvement of the reporting system and BI
• Development of the cost distribution and pricing concept
• Budgeting, forecasting and year-end closure
• Project-related budgeting and reporting
• Maintenance of controlling related data
• Networking with other international scientific projects in controlling matters

Anforderungsprofil:

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration or equivalent qualification
• Several years of experience in controlling, experience with publicly funded institutions will be advantageous
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confident use of ERP systems
• Expertise with OLAP-based BI tool would be an asset
• Precise and systematic working method
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player and ability to work well with others in diverse and evolving work environments
• Fluency in English and German
